Alison O’Bryan is in her fifth year as a public school band director and her first year as associate band director at Lightridge High School. Ms. O’Bryan completed her undergraduate studies at James Madison University where she received a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education. Her principal teachers include Dr. Sarunas Jankauskas, Dr. Anastasia Christofakis, and Kristen Sheridan.
Ms. O’Bryan is an active woodwind clinician in the Northern Virginia region. She has previously worked on the marching staff as a woodwind specialist for John Champe High School, John R. Lewis High School, and was previously the assistant marching director for the Madison County High School Marching Mountaineers. Ms. O’Bryan works as a clarinet advisor for the Virginia Winds Academy program junior division and has also served as a woodwind instructor through the Music for Life non-profit lessons program and various summer band camps. Ms. O’Bryan is an alumni of the ARIA International Summer Music Academy in Boston, Massachusetts and the Sewanee Summer Music Festival in Sewanee, Tennessee.
In her free time, Ms. O’Bryan enjoys traveling with her husband Kevin, reading, and visiting her family in Italy.
